[From wikipedia definition of raku:]

Rakuyaki or Raku is a form of Japanese pottery characterized by low firing temperatures (resulting in a fairly porous body), lead glazes, and the removal of pieces from the kiln while still glowing hot. In the traditional Japanese firing process, the pot is removed from the hot kiln and put directly into water or allowed to cool in the open air. Raku is considered the traditional method for creating bowls for the Japanese tea ceremony. Raku tea bowls are hand-made from earthenware, each with a unique shape and style. Raku techniques have been adopted and modified by contemporary potters worldwide.

My version of digital "raku", is nothing more than a nice clean container shape, that might look like clay, porcelain, metal. It may or may not be useful for tea drinking, but lots of "raku" isn't, either. It might be ten stories tall, but a good raku kiln operator should be able to make it, given enough clay, glaze and a big enough furnace.

maxwell
render
I have Maxwell Render installed now. I find there is more good news and more bad news, and that I have been spoiled by Bryce. Of course, it is all new to me, so when things don't work as expected, I have to blame myself first, the software second.
More Good
  • Maxwell Render Setting the maximum time or the minimum quality.
  • Maxwell Render Materials
  • Global Illumination
  • Sharing of resouces with multiple renders
Less Good
  • Maxwell Studio Crash
  • Maxwell Studio does not repair imperfect OBJ, must preprocess
  • Maxwell Render excessive resources used: file size, RAM, total CPU (need sensitivity)
